Parents, can you please assist us?
We have heard of a new Trend going around TikTok where students are intentionally jamming their pencils in to one of the USB Ports on their Chromebooks , which then destroys the Chromebook.
Please help your students understand there will be consequences for these actions if they make a poor choice in this way to damage district property. Consequences may including but are not limited to a $235 fee to replace the Chromebook,
Thank you, we can all continue to work together to help our students make wise decisions.

The USD 431 HOISINGTON Board of Education has announced the selection of Trenton Horn as the new superintendent. Horn will take the reins on July 1, 2025, after the departure of current superintendent Patrick Crowdis at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
Horn has broad educational experience as a teacher and an administrator. Horn is currently serving as superintendent for USD 452 Stanton County Schools in Johnson City, Kansas. He is in his sixth year in that position. Previously, he served as a middle school principal at Chapman Middle School in Chapman, Kansas, for three years, a 7-12 building principal at Valley Heights High School in Blue Rapids, Kansas, and as an agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor at Chapman High School, Linn High School and Hanover High School.
Board President Becky Mooney noted that Horn emerged from a quick, but thorough search process for the right candidate to lead the school district.
“The Board of Education is certain in our choice of Trenton Horn and confident that under his leadership USD 431 will continue to work collaboratively with our community to build a bright future for every student,” Mooney said.
Mooney explained that community input, especially that from teachers, administrators, parents and community members who participated in the community survey, targeted focus groups and public meet and greets with the two finalists, was a key factor in the success of the superintendent search process.

Updated information for the second superintendent candidate meet and greet. It is tomorrow, Thursday April 17th, from 4-5 PM in the high school commons area.

Updated information for Tuesday (4/15) Superintendent Candidate Meet and Greet.
