Aspen is a leader who leads by example. She’s hardworking, respectful, and dedicated to making Hoisington High School a better place to learn. As a Debate Captain, Aspen uses her voice to stand up for what she believes is right. And as Yearbook Editor-in-Chief, she uses journalism to lift others up and celebrate the people, memories, and stories that make our school special.

The HHS Volleyball Team split matches at the Activity Center on Senior Night tonight. The Cardinals opened play with a straight set victory over SE Saline 25-16, 25-15 but lost the nightcap to Hesston by matching 25-18 scores. The 🏐 girls will be back in action next Thursday at Pratt before hosting the first round of Regionals on Monday, October 19th.
Congratulations to the Cardinal Cross Country Team for their performances at Sterling today. In the Varsity Girls division, Tristin Compton broke her own school record Again 👏👏 with a time of 19:56. Also, Monroe Walker ran her first varsity meet and finished 32nd. In the Varsity Boys division, Brody Rossman set a school record 👏👏 with a 1st place time of 15:46. Johnathan Gonzalez finished 78th while teammate Aden Rexwinkle places 83rd.
The HHS Volleyball team split home matches tonight in a CKL Triangular. The Cardinals lost the first match in 3 sets to Hesston before bouncing back to beat Nickerson in straight sets. Come out and support the team this Thursday at the Activity Center on Senior Night as we play SE Saline followed by a rematch with Hesston.
The Cardinal Golf ⛳️ Team competed at the CKL event today in Hesston. Olivia Chambers fired a personal best and took 13th place. Teammate Alaina Rubio finished 14th place. Rilynn Crawford also shot a personal best to end up in 22nd. HHS will be back in action next Monday at Regionals in Cheney.
The Cardinal Cross Country Team competed at Ness City today. Congrats to Brody Rossman for taking 1st Place while setting a new course record!

Congratulations to the Cardinal Tennis squad for their 2nd place finish at the CKL Tournament today. Mila Simic won the #1 singles and Annabelle Gonzalez finished first in #2 singles. In the doubles division, Aubree Martin/Braylin Rossman took 3rd place in #1 Doubles and Miette Kaiser/Callie Loesch finished 4th in #2 Doubles.
The HHS Debate pair of Aspen Galindo and Zoey Bogner competed in our home event today. Props to Coach Drew Reisner for hosting a successful tournament.
The Cardinal Football team ran their district record to 2-0 with a road victory over Pratt 40-16 tonight. After playing to a 8-8 halftime score, HHS dominated both lines of scrimmage in the 2nd half. Next up: Friday at home vs Lyons (4-1).

She consistently looks out for her teammates and those around her, communicating with thoughtfulness and responsibility. The Cardinal Volleyball team went 2-1 today at the Larned Quad. HHS opened the event with a victory over Hill City 25-14, 25-20 and then beat the host Indians 25-18, 25-17. In the finale, #1 ranked Ellinwood beat the Cardinals in an exciting back/forth match 25-21, 25-21.

The Cardinal Volleyball split their CKL matches tonight in Halstead. HHS opened the evening with a two-set victory over Smoky Valley, but dropped the next match to the host Dragons on Senior Night. Next up: Thursday Larned Quad

Congratulations to the Cardinal Golf Team for the 3rd Place finish at Lake Barton today. Alaina Rubio scored a 5th place individual medal and Olivia Chambers finished 12th in the field. The ladies will be back in action next Tuesday at the CKL meet.
The Lady Cardinal 🎾 team competed in Wakeeney today. Mila Simic took 1st place (only dropping a total of 3 games all day). Aubree Martin and Braylin Rossman avenged two previous losses today to place 4th. HHS will hit the courts again next Tuesday in Ellsworth.
The Cardinal Cross Country Team had great representation today in Lawrence at the Rim Rock Invitational. Our three runners battled the mud to place high in their divisions. Brody Rossman ran a 17.37 to finish 56th (out of 157) in the top level. Tristin Compton ran a 21.08 to finish 17th (out of 217), while fellow team member Jensynn Williams placed 32nd with a season PR of 22:03.
Congratulations to the HHS Volleyball Team for winning today's Cardinal Classic with a 5-0 record. This is the 4th consecutive year for winning our own tournament #fourpeat
The Cardinal Football squad opened up district play tonight with a convincing 58-6 win over Nickerson on Homecoming. HHS will take to the road next Friday for another district game.
