The Cardinal Tennis 🎾 Team took to the courts in the Ellsworth Invitational today. HHS was led by Mila Simic (Soph) who took 2nd place 👏👏 Other results were: Annabelle Gonzalez (4th #2 Singles), Aubree Martin/Braylin Rossman (8th #1 Doubles), and Miette Kaiser/Callie Loesch (4th #2 Doubles).
The HHS Cross Country team competed at the Herington Invitational tonight. Props to Brody Rossman for his 2nd place🥈finish. James Kimbrough took 25th place in the Varsity Boys Division as well. In the Girls Varsity Division, Tristin Compton finished in 8th place and frosh Jensynn Williams 15th.
The Cardinal Golf Team competed on a hot day in Larned Thursday, and all the girls finished in the top 25. Alaina Rubio shot a 108 to lead the way and an 11th place finish. Samantha Lovett finished 14th, Rilynn Crawford 23rd, and Olivia Chambers 24th.
Due to the predicted 🥵 tomorrow, the times for the MS/HS Cross Country meet in Herington have been adjusted. Here is the updated schedule:
5:30 MS will all run together
6:00 JV/V girls
6:45 JV/V boys
The Cardinal Volleyball Team split a pair of CKL matches tonight in Larned. HHS lost the opener to Hillsboro 25-23, 25-16 and bounced back to beat the host Indians 25-17, 25-19. Next up: Russell Tournament this Saturday.
The Cardinal Golfers ⛳️ battled the heat again today at Pratt, but posted some improving scores. Alaina Rubio finished 16th, Olivia Chambers 22nd, and Rilynn Crawford 45th in the large event. The ladies will jump back into action on Thursday in Larned.
Congratulations to the Lady Cardinal Tennis team for their performance at the Great Bend Invitational today. HHS finished in 2nd Place in the eight team field that consisted of much larger WAC league schools. Results: Mila Simic-1st #1 singles, Annabelle Gonzalez-2nd #2 singles, Braylin Rossman/Aubree Martin-7th #1 doubles, Miette Kaiser/Callie Loesch-5th #2 doubles.
The Cardinal Football team lost on the road to Hesston 23-16 tonight. The back and forth game between the two state ranked teams featured five lead changes. HHS will be back in action at home next Friday against new CKL foe Cheney at 7pm.

CONGRATULATIONS TRISTIN COMPTON 👏👏 Cardinal Cross Country runner Tristin Compton broke a school record today at the Hesston Invitational, running a 20.22 in the 5K. Other top runners were Brody Rossman, James Kimbrough, and Jensynn Williams. Next up for the HHS runners will be Thursday in Herington.

Cardinal Athletics Time Changes: Monday's JV football game in Hillsboro has been pushed back to 7pm to accommodate the heat. Tuesday's Golf tournament in Medicine Lodge has been moved up to 10am. Finally, our lone home Varsity Tennis meet on Tuesday has been moved up to 9am. Stay Cool !!

In conjunction with KSHSAA, the Cardinal Cheer and Dance teams hosted their annual Spirit Spreader this morning at the Activity Center. There were 100 + participants from 12 High Schools/Middle Schools.
The HHS Golf team began their season this morning at the Hesston Invitational. The 4 member squad (Alaina Rubio, Samantha Lovett, Rilynn Crawford, and Olivia Chambers) will again hit the links next Tuesday at Medicine Lodge.
The Cardinal Cross Country teams began their fall campaign today at the Great Bend Invitational. In the Varsity Boys Division, Brody Rossman finished in 8th place (17:20). In the Varsity Girls Division, Tristin Compton finished in 14th (21:04) and Jensynn Williams finished 36th (22:19). Up next: The Hesston Invitational on Thursday.
