Hoisington High School served as the CKL Art Festival Host today at McPherson College. Props to our Art Instructor, Jeremy Dembowski, who organized/ran a great event 👏👏 The Cardinals were well represented with the following students and their art work: Isabella Mickle (Silver Medal), Tre Register (Bronze Medal), Erin Smith, Heather Ward, Samantha Merlau, Brooklynn Flowers, Danika Scott, Mila Simic, Aiden Rexwinkle, and Kaisha Woydziak.
The Cardinal Track and Field Program posted big wins today as host to the Bill Kimble Invitational. The Girls Team took top honors with 145 points, while the Boys Team won with a score of 135. In addition, five Seniors were honored: Tianna Lutters, Taylen Morales, Carson Mason, Carrson BroKar, and Layton Hoffman 👏👏 Moving forward, both teams will be competing at the Beloit Invitational on Friday.
The Cardinal Softball/Baseball teams dropped a pair of doubleheaders today in Hays against state ranked TMP. The 🥎 Team lost 10-7 and 6-2, while the ⚾️ Team dropped their games 4-1 and 11-0. Both will jump back in CKL action Friday at Halstead.
Congratulations to the Cardinal Golf ⛳️ Team for their 2nd Place finish at TMP today. Logan Cossel (77) finished in 1st Place 🥇and Kaidenn Chambers (84) took the 7th place medal.
Congratulations to the Cardinal Track/Field athletes that achieved top-3 finishes today at the Conrad Nightingale Invitational in Halstead. Leading the way for HHS was Layton Hoffman who took 1st place 🥇 in the Shot Put and Discus. Marley Bittel brought home 2nd place 🥈 in the 100 and 200. Other medalists were: Taylen Morales (3rd - Pole Vault), Brody Rossman (3rd- 3200), and Kinley Wilkens (2nd - 800). The Track/Field team will be at home Tuesday for the annual Bill Kimble Invitational.
The Cardinal Baseball/Softball teams were back in action at home tonight. HHS Baseball split with Hillsboro, winning the opener 5-3 before losing the nightcap 10-3. HHS Softball swept Hillsboro with scores of 11-4 and 13-5. Both teams will be on the road next Tuesday at TMP. On a side note, Lady Cardinal Pitcher, Brynn Tarlton (JR), was honored for her 100th career strikeout earlier this week in Haven. Congratulations 🎉👏

The road trip to Reno County was unkind to the Cardinal 🥎⚾️ teams today. The Softball team lost to Haven 2-0, 8-2 and the Baseball team lost to the host Wildcats 7-2, 11-0. Both programs will be back in action at home Thursday with JV games against Pratt, and then the CKL Varsity games pick back up Friday with home double headers against Hillsboro.

The Cardinal Track and Field program competed at the Smoky Valley Invitational today in Lindsborg. Both Boys/Girls Teams finished in 4th place in their respective team standings. Medal winners were: Layton Hoffman (1st-Discus and Shotput), Taylen Morales (1st-Pole Vault), CJ Bryant (2nd-Triple Jump), Joseph Hekele (2nd-Pole Vault), Brody Pfannenstiel (2nd-Discus), Brody Rossman (2nd-3200 Meters), Marley Bittel (1st-100 Meters and 200 Meters) (2nd- 400 Meters), Keslynn Adee (2nd-High Jump), Laeya Beck (2nd-Javelin), and Kinley Wilkens (3rd-800 Meters and Triple Jump).
It was a successful night at the ball park for the Cardinal Softball/Baseball Teams. The softball team ran their record to 10-2 with a sweep over league foe Hesston 6-5 and 11-8. The baseball team dropped the opener to the Swathers but came back to win Game 2 5-2. Both teams will jump back into league play next Tuesday at Haven.
The Cardinal Tennis 🎾 Team finished 4th at the Ellsworth Invitational this evening. Medal winners were Gabe Pawlowski (1st Place) #2 Singles and Jasper Pawlowski (3rd Place) #1 Singles. The team will be back in action next Thursday at home at 3pm.

Congratulations Karissa !!! One of our own, Karissa Benavidez, was recently selected to the Kansas Choral Directors Treble Choir 🎶 This is a prestigious Choir made up of the top Kansas HS Treble voices in the state. She will attend rehearsals on the KU Campus in early July and then perform in a concert Friday, July 10th #cardinalproud
The Cardinal Softball/Baseball squads dropped their road double headers today in Pratt. The Softball team lost their first games of the spring, losing 12-1 and 12-2. The Baseball team lost the opener 10-0 and the nightcap 12-2. Both will be back in action at home against Hesston next Friday.
