Way to go HMS and LES Robotics on a great day! Placing in the 1st place alliance at the BIGGEST VEX IQ Competition in the state of Kansas EVER is "Vortex"! Dawson David, Bennett Merlau, Wesley Mitchell, Ben Beck (unable to attend), and Rex Woydziak took first at this competition and are state qualifiers! Their winning score was 129 points! Huge win!!

HMS 8th Grade Students will travel to Barton Community College on Friday, February 6th for Career Day. Buses will depart at 11:30 am from the Middle School. Students will have a normal school day and eat at the school before we leave. BCC will now be giving the students t-shirts at the event, so the normal dress code will apply. Students need to bring a coat or 2 hoodies; there will be some walking outdoors. Water and snacks will be provided at the event. We will return to Hoisington in time for normal bus routes and sports practices. If you have any questions or concerns with your student participating, please call the Middle School.

HMS would like to recognize our very own Teri Doze who was presented with the Education Award by the Hoisington Chamber of Commerce on Jan 30, 2026. Mrs. Doze has been a staple at the moddle school for over 20 years. She is always finding ways to make the school a positive place for staff and students. Thank you for everything you do. Mrs. Doze. and congratulations!

What a day in Hoisington! 🤼‍♂️🔥 We’re incredibly proud of our athletes for their hard work, grit, and great success at today’s wrestling tournament. They represented with heart and determination from start to finish. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this event happen — coaches, officials, table workers, volunteers, and all those behind the scenes who worked in any way. We couldn’t do it without you. And to the fans — wow. Thank you for packing the building and bringing the energy! Your support made for an exciting atmosphere at our 19-team tournament and truly elevated the experience for everyone involved. Congratulations to all teams and athletes who competed today. What an unforgettable tournament! 💪👏

8th Grade Parents: We are still looking to fill time slots for this Friday's Concession Stand to earn the class of 2030 another $400. If your student has a group of friends that would want to work together -- that is a great way to fill a time slot!

HMS: Competition Week

HMS 8th Grade Students will travel to Ellinwood this Wednesday, January 28th for Reality U, a financial literacy simulation. Buses will depart at 7:50 am from the Middle School. Lunch will be provided by Ellinwood. A few students indicated they wanted to bring their own sack lunch, so please check with your student if they were one of the students who signed up to bring their own. Students need to bring a coat or 2 hoodies, which can be left on the bus upon arrival. We will return to Hoisington in time for normal bus routes and sports practices. 6th & 7th Grade students will have a normal school day. If you have any questions or concerns with your student participating, please call the Middle School. 

USD 431 Hoisington will have two hour delay to school tomorrow January 26, 2026. There will be no AM preschool.
