8th Grade Parents: We are still looking to fill time slots for this Friday's Concession Stand to earn the class of 2030 another $400. If your student has a group of friends that would want to work together -- that is a great way to fill a time slot!

HMS: Competition Week

HMS 8th Grade Students will travel to Ellinwood this Wednesday, January 28th for Reality U, a financial literacy simulation. Buses will depart at 7:50 am from the Middle School. Lunch will be provided by Ellinwood. A few students indicated they wanted to bring their own sack lunch, so please check with your student if they were one of the students who signed up to bring their own. Students need to bring a coat or 2 hoodies, which can be left on the bus upon arrival. We will return to Hoisington in time for normal bus routes and sports practices. 6th & 7th Grade students will have a normal school day. If you have any questions or concerns with your student participating, please call the Middle School. 

USD 431 Hoisington will have two hour delay to school tomorrow January 26, 2026. There will be no AM preschool.

HMS 8th Grade Students will travel to Barton Community College on Friday, February 6th for Career Day. Buses will depart at 11:30 am from the Middle School. Students will have a normal school day and eat at the school before we leave. BCC will be supplying t-shirts that they are requesting students to wear to the event. Students need to bring a coat or 2 hoodies; there will be some walking outdoors. Water and snacks will be provided at the event. We will return to Hoisington in time for normal bus routes and sports practices. If you have any questions or concerns with your student participating, please call the Middle School.

Scholars Bowl Match Day at Great Bend

The HMS Spelling Bee will be held Friday, January 23rd at 12:15 pm in the middle school gymnasium. All parents are welcome to attend; please sit at the cafeteria tables to watch the competition. The two students who finish first and second in the school bee will represent HMS in the upcoming county bee.

The Class of 2030 (8th grade) is looking for volunteers to help with concessions on Thursday, January 15th to start raising money for the class. Please use the Sign-Up Genius to volunteer for 1 or 2 time slots.

Wrestling practice begins tomorrow for HMS! Boys at the Activity Center Girls at the High school. 3:30-5:30 We have practice clothes available. Students will be transported to practice sites. They will be dismissed at the practice site If you don't have shoes we have some. They will need them by first competition. All other equipment is provided.
